Volunteer Firefighters Wanted for the communities of

New Kingman/Butler, Valle Vista, Chloride, Truxton, Valentine, and Hackberry

Training will be provided by the district. No salary or stipend available; however volunteers are covered under District's Workers Compensation program. 

Valid AZ Driver’s License required with clean driving record.

MUST successfully pass Medical, Drug and Background Screening and initial training of 80 hours in first 12 months. Volunteers will additionally attend 6 hours of training per month after initial certification as well as responding to emergencies.


Applications for all positions are available at the district office.

Please submit copies of all current certifications as applicable and be prepared to provide original certifications for review. 



Seven out of ten firefighters and emergency responders are volunteers, and Northern Arizona Fire District needs more volunteers like you. We invite you to join a family that'll always have your back and train you to serve our community in ways few can.

The vast majority of Americans live in places that don’t have a single firefighter on the payroll. “The Call” is a portrait of the volunteer fire service that steps up to answer this critical need, told in the unique voice of an animator who is also a volunteer firefighter.
