Meet the Fire Chief

Interim Fire Chief Brian Grant brings over 18 years of dedicated service in the fire and emergency services profession. Throughout his career, Chief Grant has held every position from firefighter to his current role as Interim Fire Chief, developing a deep understanding of leadership, operations, and community engagement at every level of the organization.

Chief Grant previously dedicated 13 years to the Northern Arizona Fire District, advancing through the ranks to Fire Captain and Training Officer before continuing his career as a Battalion Chief and later Assistant Fire Chief, overseeing Training and Operations for a neighboring agency. His leadership experience reflects a strong commitment to excellence, professional development, and public service.

Chief Grant holds a Master’s Degree in Emergency Management and a Bachelor’s Degree in Fire Science, along with numerous professional certifications and designations, including CPSE Chief Fire Officer (CFO), ISFSI Credentialed Training Officer, IFSAC Fire Instructor III, and IFSAC Fire Officer IV. He is a current student in the National Fire Academy’s Executive Fire Officer Program and serves as a peer reviewer supporting professional evaluations across the fire service.

Beyond the firehouse, Chief Grant is a certified NASM Personal Trainer, Nutrition Coach, and IAFF/IAFC Peer Fitness Trainer, underscoring his belief in the connection between wellness, resilience, and leadership. He also volunteers with the First Responder Therapy Dog Program as a therapy dog handler and serves nationally as a member of the International Association of Fire Chiefs Emergency Management Committee.

As Interim Fire Chief, Brian Grant is focused on enhancing service delivery to the community, supporting the professional development of district personnel, improving operational efficiency, and strengthening community engagement. He remains committed to fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and compassion throughout the district.
